Comments for “Three different drive mechanisms”

A friend hinted at an excellent way to make more accurate threads by hand. The rod is mounted in a drill chuck and the die in a vise. The chuck is rotated by hand (unless the drill has an option for really slow gear), and the rotation compensates for small inaccuracies in the alignment.

I have tried this with 10 cm long threads and it worked well for atleast that distance.
