Fantastic app and great instructions.
thanks for your effort and time

Thanks for sharing this. Very useful.

I made a few mods to meet my own requirement using the source you provided...

Replaced the "Draw Over" function with "Auto Scaling". After the run, it redraws the graph using the existing data - scaled to the min and max dB in the data.

Limited the max frequency to 10k.

Added vertical lines representing guitar string frequencies.

I can send you the modified code if you like...

@Walt,

Yeah it would be interesting if you can put your code up somewhere.

I'm currently working on a bit different project for the Quad so it might take some time before I get back to updating freq response. (So many ideas :)

I made several mods to the app, including:

Starts at main menu (instead of starting with data capture)

Added sub-menus for dB scaling, Max Frequency, Resolution, Saving, and Help.

db Scaling - reset to default, dynamically scale to captured data, manually expand or contract scale.

Max Frequency - set to 100, 1K, 10K, 100K

Resolution - change "points per decade"; 4 choices between 10 and 100.

Save - screen bitmap or CSV; CSV includes commas

Still working on it, but hex code is available for download here (right-click and save as .hex):

Found/fixed a bug in the version described above.
The bug causes incorrect results on second and subsequent runs.

Hi ,

Thanks for the job, but I can not upload it in the DS203.
I boot while keeping pressed >II, drag and drop the file hex.
The windows closed, the windows7 says the disk do not more exist. Then never the windows comes back, nor when I boot I found back the hex file rename with extension rdy or other. No file in.

Any idea?

Thx for help.

@Galmiche

Try to either enable or disable the Write Cache on the USB drive. It may help:

— Petteri Aimonen on 24.03.2012 at 13:46 (UTC)

Solved: The saved file was name extension .txt instead of .hex ; Unmask Windows7 extension of filename was off, so I didn't saw .txt as default file saved extension. rename to .hex really and was fine.
Thanks for your GREAT job!

This is a brilliant addition to the DSO 203.

Got the quad to putter around on some electronics projects. Turns out your app is very handy for my music hobby too. Love your site BTW. Keep up the good work.

— Antonio on 18.05.2013 at 08:13 (UTC)

Very nice and handy app. Thanks for sharing!

Hello Petteri,

I am an engineer and am looking forward to receiving my DS203. Your program motivated me to place an order of the device. Once I get it, I am going to install the application. Thank you very much for your sharing the great program.
I would appreciate it very much if you could modify the program so that DS203 device be able to display the impedance of the DUT. I think it would be possible if the value of the resistor is known.

Regards,

Kenji Yamamoto

Great app, but I can't write files.
I just installed in a Hardware 2.81 and Sys 1.62 and when I try to save BMP or CSV appears "Error writting file" do I have to create FREQXXX.BMP files or something?

Thanks

— Oscar Fernández on 05.02.2015 at 21:32 (UTC)

Sanks

— den on 22.02.2015 at 11:05 (UTC)

Hello!
Great app, I have the same problem Oscar Fernández has!
cannot save.
any ideas?
Thank you

— Roberto on 01.04.2015 at 20:17 (UTC)

There seems to be a problem to save BMP or CSV files.
Is there also the possibility to get the hex file for the latest frequency response application without using the quad pawn?

Thanks

Вещь просто офигенная! Так можно еще и под себя исходник поменять - только скачать компилятор махонький. Для снятия характеристик ультразвуковых излучателей - самое то!
