A unique design. I understand how a number of the features work,but I can't visualize how it presses down on the book. Pictures or a video of that part working might help me understand how it works.
I would appreciate additional information.

When the handles are in fully open position, the threads are disengaged
and the middle plate can be placed down. Then all the handles are pulled
inwards and the threads start pushing the plate down. It is sometimes a
bit difficult to get the threads aligned so that they start turning, but
once they get started there is a nice amount of lever force.
